As a former teacher, fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the fresh start that we get every school year and do not look at the end of summer with sadness, but excitement about the new beginning.
With that in mind, I’d love to tell you we have a multi-tiered plan for safely reopening our office. However, that is just not the case. On a positive note, while the numbers in many communities continue to rise, our Fargo/Moorhead community is holding fairly steady and we are hopeful. The health and safety of our patients is of the utmost importance to us and we do not intend to open our doors for in-person sessions until we feel comfortable safely doing so.
My personal nightmare is making the phone calls required should we need to inform people that they may have been in contact in our building with someone who tested positive. This is not only difficult for us to do because we truly care about our patients but also because we are obligated to break confidentiality and report this to contact tracers. We take your health and confidentiality very seriously and are not comfortable with in-person sessions at this time and are so thankful that we have the telehealth option to continue sessions uninterrupted.
By this time, we are all getting more and more comfortable with virtual sessions and although most of us would rather be back in the same room together again, we are making things work and rolling with the punches. Our current plan is to continue to monitor policies and statistics specific to our community, keeping a close eye on data as our area schools reopen, and will re-evaluate often and gladly open up our doors again as soon as possible. As someone who has personally been affected by COVID-19, I do not take this decision lightly. Although I’ve been “recovered” since April, I am still struggling with the after effects of this thing and will do anything and everything I can to make our office a safe space that promotes health and wellness and avoid being a space where a virus is transmitted. When we do reopen, we will follow all policies and procedures set by the CDC and our local officials. As always, feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Jamie and your Resolve Team
